Clonea is an exceptional horse, very much part of the family and holds a very special place in each and every one of our hearts here at Tillington Stables. He was bought as a six year old many years ago and since then has proudly competed at many different levels with all three of Abbie’s children. He has been an incredible teacher to all three girls and has even given them the luxury to compete at the Pony Club National Championships and BE100.
Although Clonea is not part of our licensed riding school and is not used for lessons, he remains a much-loved and invaluable part of our team. Now enjoying a quieter life, he no longer competes, but plays a vital role as an escort horse on our winter hacks. He is brilliant at showing the younger, newer ponies how to do their ‘jobs’, continuously keeping them calm and providing a reassuring presence in all scenarios.
Gentle, caring, and endlessly kind, Clonea is truly a once in a lifetime horse – one who has taught, inspired and looked after anyone who has been lucky enough to ride him.
Clonea’s herd consists of; Crunchie, George, Henry, Rhett, Samson, Willow and Winston.
